Frequently asked questions

What is an Apply Kit?+

An Apply Kit brings together a job fit report, a tailored resume and an editable cover letter. Pro can prepare the complete kit in one flow; Free can generate fit reports and letters within its allowance. Review the documents, download them and submit yourself on the employer's website.

How are the new AI tools counted?+

All AI tools share your monthly allowance: 5 actions on Free and 300 on Pro. Free also caps fit reports at 3, cover-letter generations at 2 and interview prep packs at 1 per month, within those 5 actions. A complete Apply Kit uses up to 3 actions. Reusing saved results and editing manually are free; failed actions are refunded.

Will CraftRezume submit applications or contact employers for me?+

No. You review and submit applications yourself. The tracker records your progress, follow-up dates and outcomes. Follow-up reminders are shown in the app; they do not send emails or messages.

Are discovered jobs verified?+

No. You can browse watched public company boards or paste a posting yourself, but you should verify the role on the employer's official website and check recruiter details before sharing personal information.

What does ATS-friendly mean?+

Most companies screen resumes with Applicant Tracking Systems before a human sees them. Our templates are single-column with real text (no images, tables or text boxes), standard section headings and clean fonts, so ATS software parses every line correctly.

How is my ATS score calculated?+

Your resume is scored out of 100 across four areas: job match (required skills, the posting's exact wording, job title, degree, years of experience, certifications), content (measurable results, action verbs, cliches, typos, unfilled placeholders), sections (contact details, summary, experience, education, skills) and formatting (single column, no tables or graphics, dates, length). Add a job description and the score is measured against that job. Every missed point comes with the fix.

Can you guarantee my resume passes every ATS?+

No one honestly can - every employer configures their system differently, and a person makes the final call. What we do is remove the things known to trip ATS parsers, make sure the skills and wording the job asks for appear where you genuinely have them, and make your results easy for a recruiter to see in a few seconds. That's what gets resumes shortlisted.

Should I copy every keyword from the job posting?+

Only the ones that are true for you. Recruiters notice keyword stuffing, and you'll be asked about everything on your resume in the interview. We show which required skills are missing so you can add the ones you have - in your bullets, where they carry the most weight - and we flag skills repeated too often.

Will the AI make things up?+

The AI is instructed to use your supplied facts and never invent employers, titles, dates, skills or numbers. When a metric would strengthen a bullet but you haven't provided one, it can insert a placeholder like [X%]. Review every draft and replace placeholders with facts you can support before using it.

I already have a resume. Can I improve it instead of starting over?+

Yes. Upload your current PDF or Word resume and we'll give it an ATS score, list the details it's missing and the points that are weakly worded, then walk you through fixing them in a short chat. Answer in your own words, let AI rewrite a point, or skip anything. When you're done, pick a template and download the new version. Your uploaded file itself isn't stored - only the text we extract.

How does tailoring to a job description work?+

Paste a job posting and the AI rewrites your summary and bullet points to emphasise your most relevant experience using the job's own terminology. The result is saved as a new version, so your original is never overwritten. You'll also see a keyword match score and any skills the job asks for that your resume doesn't show.

Can I keep different versions for different jobs?+

Yes. Every resume can have multiple versions - duplicate, rename, compare them side by side, and download any version as a PDF.

Can I cancel Pro anytime?+

Yes. Cancel from your billing page in one click. You keep Pro until the end of your billing period, and your resumes stay available on the Free plan.

Is my data private?+

Your resumes are only visible to you. We never sell your data, and resume content is only sent to our AI provider when you explicitly use an AI feature.
